BMC
Limited will lease rooms to private GP’s and other health
professionals in the BMC.
N.B.
Companies limited by guarantee can only be set up for charitable or
community purposes and only community organisations can benefit if they are
wound up.
Who will build and own
the BMC building?
-
A
private investor will fit out the BMC in his building on his land.

The
building will provide for up to 12 consulting rooms
-
BMC
Limited and Central Queensland Rural Division of General Practice will
own all internal equipments
-
A
Federal Grant of $440,000 will complete the fit out of the medical
centre.
Who manages the building?

BMC
Limited will lease the building from the private investor

BMC
Limited will manage the lease arrangements within this building

CQDRGP
will provide assistance and management of health professionals practices
on request.
Where does any profits or
money go?
-
All
funds and/or profits must be retained within BMC Limited as per the
constitution.

Profits
must be generated to ensure adequate funds are retained to cover
maintenance, repairs and replacement of equipment owned by BMC Limited
-
No
funds can be distributed as dividends or shares to any person or
organisation.
Will doctors pay leases?
-
Health
professionals will be attracted by lease options tailored to their
needs.

BMC
Limited is committed to attracting and retaining private GPs and other
health services into this facility on a commercially viable basis
What happens if the money
is not raised to secure the Lease?
-
BMC
Limited has no funds other than that donated by the community.
-
The
call for donations is to allow BMC Limited to guarantee lease costs for
the first 2 years.
-
Other
operating funds will be obtained from leasing rooms
to GPs and other professionals
-
If
donations are not deemed sufficient to cover the lease for the first 2
years then the project will not go ahead and all donations will be
returned to donors.

If
the lease is signed then all donated funds will become assets of the BMC
limited and will not be returned to donors.
Will monies be returned
after 2 years if private GP’s have not come?
-
The
BMC Limited will expend donated funds to establish the BMC
-
Donated
funds expended to establish the BMC will NOT be returned to donors if
the BMC fails to attract GP’s and other professionals to operate from
the facility within 2 years
Guarantees:

No
guarantee is given that the BMC will attract private GP’s
-
Biloela
will be competing against many other communities in similar situations.

A
strong marketing campaign will be undertaken as soon as the project is
given the go ahead.

BMC
Limited is convinced that without this facility the probability of GPs
or other health professionals relocating to Biloela to provide an
adequate service to the Biloela community is HIGHLY
UNLIKELY.
